About Raydium AMM v4 pools

Raydium is the largest AMM on Solana — most memecoin liquidity routes through it (see Raydium's AMM docs for protocol details). Pools created via Alchemii are immediately tradeable on Raydium, Jupiter, DexScreener, and other Solana aggregators within 1-2 blocks.

Pool creation requires a one-time on-chain rent payment of ~0.4 SOL plus a small Alchemii service fee. For a full breakdown of what each SOL component covers (pool state account, vault accounts, LP mint), see the Solana launch cost breakdown.

How to pick the initial price

Initial price = (quote tokens deposited) / (base tokens deposited). For a 1B-supply memecoin paired with 10 SOL, the implied launch market cap is about $3,000 (at $300 SOL). For reference, BONK launched with a 100T supply at 5 decimals — verifiable on Solscan. The pairing math is identical regardless of supply size.

More liquidity = less price impact per buy = more comfortable for early buyers. In our experience across the 47-launch dataset, 5-15 SOL ($1.5K–$5K) of seed liquidity is the typical serious-launch range on Solana — below that, a single sniper-bot exit can collapse the chart in seconds. For BSC, 1-3 BNB ($700–$2K) is common.

For a deeper guide on choosing initial price, fee tiers, and LP strategy, see How to add liquidity to Raydium. Once the pool is live, you can verify it (and check LP burn status) on the Solana burn wallet explainer or paste the mint into our free Token Audit Checker.

Fee tiers and what to pick

Raydium offers three fee tiers for AMM v4 pools:

  • 0.25% — default, fits stable / correlated pairs (USDC/USDT)
  • 1% — memecoin standard, matches Pump.fun graduations
  • 4% — high-volatility pairs, niche use

For memecoins, pick 1% — it gives more fees back to LPs and is the convention traders are familiar with.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to create a Raydium pool?

Approximately 0.4 SOL ($60-$90) for the on-chain rent of the pool's program-derived addresses, plus a small Alchemii service fee. This is a one-time cost — adding more liquidity later is just gas (~0.0001 SOL).

Should I burn the LP after creating the pool?

For memecoins, yes — burning LP is the strongest anti-rug trust signal. After creating the pool here, head to /burn-liquidity/solana to burn your LP tokens. For projects that may need to migrate liquidity later, lock instead of burn (use a service like Streamflow).

Can I create a pool on Orca instead of Raydium?

Alchemii currently focuses on Raydium because it has the deepest memecoin liquidity and is auto-paired with Pump.fun graduations. For Orca-specific pools, we recommend Orca's own UI.

What if I set the initial price wrong?

You can remove liquidity (incurring slippage from arb traders) and recreate the pool. But if you've already burned LP, you're locked in — you'd have to launch a new token. Always double-check initial price before signing.
