Launch a Solana memecoin for about $10-15 total — and that's the full cost, not a teaser. Below: the exact breakdown of every fee, where each one goes, and how to launch for the cheapest legitimate price on Solana.

Overview

Solana SPL token creation has a real cost floor. The Solana protocol charges rent for the on-chain accounts your token needs (mint account + Metaplex metadata account), and any reputable tool charges a service fee on top to cover infrastructure. This page is the honest breakdown.

Total realistic cost to launch a Solana memecoin via Alchemii: about 0.07 SOL — roughly $10-15 USD at typical prices. That's everything: token mint, Metaplex metadata, our service fee. No subscription, no per-trade cut, no hidden upgrades.

The exact cost breakdown

Solana network fees: ~0.0025 SOL. Pays validators for executing the transaction.

Metaplex metadata account rent: ~0.0144 SOL. One-time on-chain rent for the metadata account that stores your name, symbol, and image link. Refundable if you ever close the account.

Alchemii service fee: ~0.05 SOL. Covers our infrastructure (RPC nodes, IPFS pinning, transaction retry logic). Flat fee — no per-trade cut.

Optional: revoke mint authority +0.05 SOL. Optional: revoke freeze authority +0.05 SOL. Optional: revoke update authority +0.05 SOL.

Total without authority revokes: ~0.07 SOL. Total with all three revokes: ~0.22 SOL (~$30-45 USD). Most memecoin launches do at least mint + freeze revoke, putting total at ~0.17 SOL (~$25 USD).

Why is there a cost floor at all?

Solana's protocol charges rent for permanent on-chain storage. Your token needs at least two accounts: the SPL mint account (~0.0015 SOL) and the Metaplex metadata account (~0.0144 SOL). These are protocol-level costs that no tool can avoid.

On top, any reputable creator charges a service fee — covering RPC node costs, IPFS pinning, frontend hosting, transaction retry logic, and engineering. Tools that claim 'free' typically either subsidize via locked liquidity (Pump.fun's bonding curve fees), affiliate kickbacks, or hidden upgrade tiers.

Alchemii's service fee (~0.05 SOL) is on the cheaper end of legitimate flat-fee creators. We don't take a cut of trades, don't gate features behind subscriptions, and don't lock liquidity.

How does this compare to alternatives?

Pump.fun: free to launch (no upfront cost), but takes 1% of every buy and every sell forever. For a successful token, this adds up to thousands or more.

Smithii: 0.15-0.3 SOL flat fee depending on revoke options. Higher than Alchemii for the same core feature set.

CoinFactory: similar flat-fee tier (~0.1 SOL upfront).

Direct via Solana CLI: technically free of service fees, but requires Rust knowledge and you still pay 0.0144 SOL for Metaplex metadata. Most non-developers can't use this path.

Alchemii: ~0.07 SOL flat, no per-trade cut. Cheapest legitimate flat-fee path for a no-code launch.

What you also need to budget for (beyond the token itself)

Liquidity seed for Raydium pool: 5-15 SOL ($1.5K-$5K) is typical for a serious memecoin launch. This isn't a cost in the 'gone forever' sense — it sits in the pool and is technically yours until you remove or burn the LP.

LP burn: ~0.0001 SOL of network fee. Trivially cheap, just gas to send LP tokens to the burn address.

Image hosting (optional upgrade): IPFS pinning via Pinata is ~$5/month for reliability. Free public gateways work but can be slow. Arweave (permanent) is pay-once, ~$0.10 for a 512x512 PNG.

Marketing (the real cost): zero on-chain budget here covers community building, KOL outreach, etc. The technical cost of launching is the cheapest part of a memecoin launch — distribution is where the spend goes.

Frequently asked questions

Is there really no monthly subscription?

No subscription. Pay once per token, that's it. We don't charge for second-tier features, rate-limit your form usage, or require a paid plan for any production functionality.

What about the 0.05 SOL revoke fees? Are those mandatory?

Mandatory if you want to revoke. Each revoke is a separate on-chain instruction that costs Solana network fees — we charge a small fee on top to cover infrastructure. For memecoins, mint + freeze revoke is non-negotiable, so realistic total is ~0.17 SOL.

Can I get a refund if I make a mistake?

Solana transactions are final once confirmed. We can't refund a successfully-executed mint. The Metaplex metadata account rent (~0.0144 SOL) is technically refundable if you close the account, but the rest is gone once spent. Test with small parameters first if you're uncertain.

How does Pump.fun being 'free' actually work?

Pump.fun fronts the launch costs in exchange for 1% of every buy and sell on the bonding curve and post-graduation pool. For a token that does any meaningful volume, that 1% adds up to far more than Alchemii's flat 0.07 SOL. Pump.fun is cheaper only if your token never trades.

What if SOL price spikes — does the cost go up?

The SOL-denominated cost is fixed (~0.07 SOL). The USD-denominated cost moves with SOL price. At $300 SOL, total is ~$21. At $500 SOL, total is ~$35. Plan around the SOL number, not the USD number.
